Rose Weaver
Joins Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival
to teach Spilling the Beans
From Thought to Pen
Spilling the Beans will allow a safe and comfortable space for solo artists to create or further develop personal stories over the course of 12 weeks. It will include stimulating sensory exercises that activate the memory (ie through guided imagery exercises) and writing exercises that make use of music, photographs, drawings, and objects. Character, action and metaphor are emphasized (in contrast to explaining the story). The workshop allows students the opportunity to share material within the group and gain structural and content feedback for the creation or strengthening of previously developed solo works.
